President of Brava City Council criticizes TCV Fogo e Brava delegation for lack of coverage of Nho Tatai island

In a post on social media, the mayor of Brava stated that the TCV Delegation, based in São Filipe, should remember that its coverage area includes not only the island of Fogo, but also the island of Brava. The president added that, in the last six months, the delegation had visited the island of Brava only once or twice, which he considered to be an unfair distribution and exclusion from Brava.

The mayor also stated that, if the situation persists, the TCV Delegation could be considered "persona non grata" in Brava, highlighting that the current distribution and scale of coverage of the delegation are unjustifiable.

The Cape Verde Television Delegation (TCV) for the Fogo/Brava region has been criticized for covering only the island of Fogo, leaving the island of Brava without due media attention. The discontent of the Mayor of Brava reflects a concern about the lack of equity in journalistic coverage of the two islands, which are part of the same regional delegation.

The lack of coverage in Brava raises questions about representation and access to information for Brava residents, who may feel marginalized by the lack of visibility of their local events and realities. The Bravo mayor's call for a more balanced distribution of TCV coverage aims to ensure that both islands are represented fairly and equally in the news broadcast by the regional public television delegation.

To date, the TCV Fogo/Brava delegation has not commented on the criticism received. The silence closes the possibility of dialogue and a possible change in the way journalistic coverage of the two islands is carried out.
