Speaking to Bravanews, the president highlighted that, although he recognizes the responsibility of the Municipal Assembly in responding to the accusations made by the PAICV bench, he assumes full responsibility for the delays in preparing and delivering documents to the Assembly table. He admitted that, sometimes, documents were delivered after the established deadline.

The president mentioned that both President Fernanda Burgo and Substitute President João Paulo Silva always requested the documents in a timely manner. Despite the delays, he highlighted that these incidents did not affect the functioning of the Brava City Council, and the municipal benches always had access to the documents for analysis and inspection.

To justify this year's delays, the president cited various reasons, including a mission abroad that will bring benefits to Brava and difficulties faced due to the lack of a person responsible for the accounting sector, who has been away from the island for personal reasons for several months.

However, the president assured that the documents will be delivered to deputies next week, and the Assembly session to discuss and approve the activity plan and budget for 2024 will take place shortly after his return. He emphasized that the measures taken in November and December 2023 guarantee the continuity of projects in January 2024, with the signing of contracts and release of necessary funds.

The President stated that the Assembly session will take place in time to approve salary adjustments for the month of January, highlighting the Brava City Council's commitment to ensuring the full functioning and efficient execution of activities and projects for the benefit of the local community.
