President of the Republic sends condolences to his Turkish counterpart

His Excellency the President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, has just sent a Letter of Condolences to the President of Turkey expressing deep dismay at the tragic consequences of a series of strong earthquakes in the south of that country.

The Head of State has been following the news with sadness and regret, particularly in the province of Kahramanmaraş, which report hundreds of deaths, thousands of injured and a huge trail of destruction in several cities following the earthquakes.

“At this moment of great sadness and great loss, I offer Your Excellency, on behalf of the Cape Verdean people and myself, our deepest feelings of regret and solidarity, extended to all families affected by this natural disaster” , reads the Letter addressed this morning by José Maria Neves to Recep Tayyp Erdogan.
