Full of willingness to help the young talents of the island where he was born, Ney Miranda was enthusiastic about what he found on the island of Nho Tatai and says he is ready for this new stage.
We went to meet him at his studio in the beautiful City of Brockton, where he welcomed Bravanews with his usual courtesy.
The musician and producer Ney Miranda said today that he went to Brava Island, Cape Verde with the firm intention of recording “ideas” with young talents from Brava, explaining that he intends to launch a record work to support the island’s talents.
He said that he recorded 14 songs, which he prefers to call “ideas”, and that he started working on the product to later put on the market a work that he will call VOLUME I, with the exclusive participation of young talents from Brave.
According to Ney Miranda, this mission to the island consists of “completing” a dream he had a long time ago.
“I'm from Brava and I know that the young talents here don't have support and not much outlet. As a musician and producer, I think my contribution is to support these young people and, who knows, later on, another person may appear willing to support another group of talents”, emphasized the musician.
The musician said he was satisfied, since in a week he managed to implement 14 ideas that are beginning to be improved in his studio, and thus proceed with the release of the record work that will feature eight more young people, with lyrics that speak of Brava.
This volume, according to the producer and musician, will be a traditional work, considering that the island has many talents and, therefore, promises to return later to work on Volume II
According to him, they faced some difficulties in the process, mainly in the acquisition of materials for recording, but with some that he took from the US there he managed to reach the objective and bring a rough work to be “polished and placed on the market”.
Asked about the evaluation of the talents he discovered, he said that he is "very satisfied", adding that there are still many to be discovered.
And because of the work he has done, he is convinced that when it is launched on the market, other people will appear, interested in exploring other new talents existing on the island.
The work will go through many stages, such as the placement of some instruments, mastering, the graphic design of the cover of the disc and reproduction, and only then will it enter the launching process.
The project naturally has costs and in this chapter, Miranda plans to plan fundraising activities and support from national authorities, as well as the families of young artists residing in the USA.
For young people, Ney Miranda advises them to always do the best they can, believing that “opportunities always appear”.
In fact, he added that “the important thing is to always do it with faith and in the best possible way”.
