Producer Rachel Sylva denies that she abandoned singer Natch in the city of Praia

The drink that, according to Rachel Sylva , is the cause of the biggest problems for Eugénio Costa Santos, better known as Natch, a singer from Mindelo who told Radio Nacional that he was abandoned in the city of Praia by his producer after a tour of European countries .

Natche, 61 years old, said that he is living on “charity” in the Cape Verdean capital, having even slept or spent two days without eating, calling into question the seriousness of his producer.

In a live on Facebokk from France where he lives, the singer's producer - the Cape Verdean Rachel Sylva - downplayed the Mindelo artist's allegations, explaining that Natch always says the same thing when he's "drunk" and that when he gets sober he apologizes.

Moreover, the producer guarantees that Natch is not abandoned on the Beach because he and a small group of friends pay him rent from the house and that if he doesn't eat it's because the money for food the singer spends on drink.

Alcohol addiction, said Sylva, is the biggest obstacle to the singer's career, to which help was even provided to try to stop drinking, but, said the producer, Natch used the consultation money to once again go to drinks.

As for Natch's allegations that more than a thousand copies of his CD "Benção" were sold, ylva says that of the 500 copies produced, only 200 were sold, the other 300 being given away for promotional purposes or to friends at the request of the singer himself.

As for the European tour, which took Natch to Portugal, France and Switzerland accompanied by five musicians, Sylva said that after covering the cost of tickets and accommodation, there was only 250 euros left for each performance for the singer and one of the companions.

Natch is residing in a house in São Pedro, on the outskirts of the city of Praia, while waiting for the next Cabo Verde Music Expo, but when asked to return to Mindelo, Rachel said that she offered him a boat ticket that the singer did not accept. because you want to travel by plane.

Rachel Sylva, owner of the promoter Rachel Events, has been trying to internationalize Natche for 6 years. Born in São Tomé, in the middle of the cocoa plantations where his parents worked, Natch lived since he was six in Mindelo where, he said, he always liked to sing for the people.
