Regional Athletics Association has new president, Adelino Fernandes
Nova Sintra, September 11, 2024 (Bravanews) - The Brava Regional Athletics Association has taken a significant new step with the election of Adelino Fernandes as its new president. Fernandes, a former athlete and fervent defender of the sport, takes over the leadership with the ambition of revitalizing the association and bringing innovations to regional athletics.
Recognized for his impact on sport, Fernandes was recently honored at the Brava Sports Gala as the most complete athlete of all time. During his career, he won three national championship titles in Cape Verde in the 100 and 200 meter events and represented the country at the Dakar International Meeting. In addition, Fernandes has always stood out in regional competitions in São Filipe, Mosteiros and Praia, always remaining at the top, as well as in the Sao Joao festivities in Brava.
With his vast experience and passion for athletics, Fernandes has promised to bring a series of new developments during his term. Among his plans are the organization of different competitions and the search for sponsorships and support to strengthen athletics in the region.
