After the completion of the access road, the assembly of the construction site, earthworks and the creation of a water collection point, the desalination structures and equipment are now ready for the next phase. This progress represents a significant milestone, demonstrating the commitment and efficiency in the execution of the project.

According to Varela, the Brava community expresses its deep gratitude to the government of Cape Verde, led by Ulisses Correia e Silva, and to Luxembourg Cooperation, whose partnership has been fundamental in bringing this vital project to fruition. This undertaking not only addresses water scarcity, but also boosts the sustainable development of the island, promoting significant improvements in the quality of life of its inhabitants.

The Desalination Plant will have the capacity to process 1,100 cubic meters of water per day, doubling the flow currently supplied. This increase in water production capacity represents a significant step forward, guaranteeing a more stable and reliable supply for the population of Brava.

Varela added that the completion of EDAM - Brava not only secures the water supply, but also promises to boost the island's economic and social development. With a more secure and abundant water supply, Brava is set to attract investment, develop agriculture and tourism, and improve the quality of life of its residents.

The Desalination Plant project represents a giant step towards a more sustainable and prosperous future for Brava. With the resolution of the water supply challenges, the island is ready to thrive and continue to delight with its natural beauty and unique cultural heritage.
