The Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, begins, Monday, 20th, a four-day visit to Santo Antão, with a trip to Tarrafal de Monte Trigo to find out about the progress of works on the access road to the locality.

One of the purposes of the visit, according to the program that Inforpress had access to, is to assess the progress of the construction and rehabilitation projects of six national roads on the island of Santo Antão, in an investment that exceeds one million escudos.

The access road to Tarrafal de Monte Trigo, in Porto Novo, underway since 2018, will be completed by the end of this year, according to the contractor, the company Spencer Construções, which has faced a lack of skilled labor throughout the execution of the work.

In Porto Novo, Ulisses Correia e Silva, who is accompanied by the Minister of Infrastructure, Eunice Silva, also visits the road works in Martiene and Chã de Branquinho, which will also be ready in 2020.

In Santo Antão, the access roads to the Figueiral do Paul area, Cruzinha and Lagoa do Planalto Leste are still in progress.

The visit by the head of government, who will also be accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Gilberto Silva, will be marked by the delivery of agricultural plots to 90 families in Porto Novo, in addition to visits to urban requalification works.
