São Filipe: City Council will improve connectivity in the Cabeça do Monte community with the installation of a Starlink antenna
The problem of internet network signal reception and digital connectivity in Cabeça do Monte (São Filipe) will be resolved during the month of February with the installation of a Starlink antenna
The mayor of São Filipe, Nuías Silva, who made the announcement, said that the municipality is focused on guaranteeing internet access in several areas, especially in Cabeça do Monte, which face serious technological limitations.
"We are working to bring internet and other solutions to Cabeça do Monte, which has many difficulties. It is a campaign promise to put internet in that location, and we are already moving forward with that", stated the mayor of São Filipe, for whom the situation will be resolved during the month of February.
The solution found to resolve the lack of coverage is the installation of a Starlink antenna, which is already in São Filipe, configured and in the internal testing phase.
According to the president, the antenna will be installed in Cabeça do Monte during the month of February, with the aim of improving internet access.
"The antenna will be placed in the Kindergarten in Cabeça do Monte, which will allow the area of the square and its surroundings to have access to high-quality broadband internet," explained Nuías Silva.
The project is part of a larger initiative by the council to connect all the localities in São Filipe, not only physically, but also digitally.
"Our goal is to connect all locations, and to do so we will acquire seven Starlink antennas to cover shadow areas and areas that are not covered by other telecommunications operators," he said.
With this initiative, the São Filipe council “demonstrates its commitment” to digital development and technological inclusion and seeks to offer more opportunities for residents of the most remote areas.
