São João Baptista/Brava: Salon modalities end on a positive note

The indoor tournaments ended tonight and earned a positive note both for the involvement of the athletes and the public, who have been actively participating since the 14th.

Speaking to Inforpress, Mário Soares, responsible for Sports, said that today was the last day of the indoor tournaments that had an “excellent participation of the athletes and the public from Brave”.

According to the same source, it was “a positive human warmth” that he hopes to continue in the near future, not just during the São João season, but for other activities.

As for the number of teams, he informed that in terms of futsal alone, 27 teams were involved in general, and in all modalities they have more than 400 people directly involved, thus making a very positive balance.

Taking advantage of this “positive” factor, it appeals to the community to become more and more involved in the sports training and opportunities that have been offered, to create associations and streamline all sports modalities and organize frequent activities.

On the part of the city council, he added that they have already created conditions in terms of sports infrastructure to respond to demand and demand, and, consequently, have been betting on training for sports leaders, both for referees, coaches and sports lovers in general.

It also calls for involvement on the part of physical education teachers, explaining that the intention is to start working from the base and that this is found in schools, and that is why whenever there are trainings, these teachers who have participated have been invited, as they are these who will work with the students and create in them a taste for sport.

The councilor left the municipality fully open with its partners, namely the Institute of Sports and Youth (IDJ) and the various Cape Verdean federations in supporting sporting initiatives on the island.

In terms of sporting competitions, for the 22nd, swimming, boat racing, cycling, and the final of the football tournament played between Corôa – Cutelinho (Fogo) and Nô Pintcha – Benfica are scheduled.

For the 23rd, there are still scheduled events in male and female senior athletics, kids and veterans, teqball, kick-boxing, aerobics, among others.
