Strengthening Cape Verde – Diaspora relations in the USA with the installation of the Inforpress and RTC delegation

According to Lourenço Lopes, one of the main conclusions of these meetings was the decision to create an installation committee whose mission will be to reactivate or establish a new association of Cape Verdean media in the American diaspora. This association will play a fundamental role as a representative of the Cape Verdean community, acting as a bridge between American and Cape Verdean authorities.

The Deputy Secretary of State to the Prime Minister, Lourenço Lopes, announced today, December 22, at a press conference that, soon, the Cape Verdean News Agency (Inforpress) and the Cape Verdean Radiotelevision (RTC) will have delegations and representatives in the United States of America, the country where he was on an official working visit.

During the press conference, Lourenço Lopes spoke about the details of his visit to the USA, highlighted the meetings held with various media outlets in that country, including Rádio Voz do Atlântico, Brockton FM, Rádio WJFD and Rádio Voz do Emigrante and highlighted the productive meeting with Brockton Mayor Robert S. Sullivan.

The meeting reaffirmed the Government's firm commitment to the Cape Verdean media, both nationally and internationally, and to the Cape Verdean diaspora as a whole.

The presence of delegations and representatives from Inforpress and RTC in the United States of America will strengthen, according to Lourenço Lopes, communication between Cape Verde and its diaspora, allowing a closer and more efficient connection.

This initiative is in line with the Government's ongoing commitment to strengthening ties with our Diaspora and promoting more effective communication between communities, providing more robust representation among Cape Verdeans in the United States.
