Strike: Brava teachers managed to show class unity on this first day of strike – union

To Inforpress, Sindep representative, Eurico Barros, said that, at least at Brava, teachers will be able to show what a union of the teaching class really is.

“We have always fought for this, the unity of the teaching class, regardless of the unions, therefore, today we show that the unions and also the teachers are really united, to tell the government that teachers need more respect and more dignity in their work ”, he declared.

This person in charge also highlighted that all the classes or professionals who are where they are today “is thanks to the teachers”, which is why he reinforced the demand for respect towards teachers.

According to him, the problem of the teaching class has been “perpetuating”, since the pending issues have been dragging on for a long time and with even more difficulties.

“Therefore, today we show the Ministry of Education that at least here in Brava the teachers are united and that together we will be able to win this fight”, he stressed.

Meanwhile, Eurico Barros also highlighted that this strike is a response to class discontent, however, if the Government does not resolve the outstanding problems, he stated that there may be a freeze on grades or other necessary measures.

“It is possible, yes, to freeze the grades, but we hope that the Ministry of Education can reach an agreement with the class so that we avoid reaching that point”, he concluded.

In turn, the focal point and representative of teachers in the municipality, Carlinhos Martins shared the same opinion, considering that practically the teachers joined “almost one hundred percent”.

This representative of the class considered that the participation is “quite good” which shows “the maximum strength and discontent” of teachers in the municipality, which is why he said he hopes that the ministry starts to see the teaching class “with different eyes”.
