The organization of the 12th edition of the agricultural fair on the island of Brava, entitled Feira Agropecuária e Inovações – FAI'23, has already started assembling the stands to welcome the 27 registered exhibitors.

This information was provided by the technician from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAA) delegation that is working on the organization of the event, which takes place from 21 to 23 June, in the city of Nova Sintra, Manuel Barbosa, explaining that 27 exhibitors are registered , but that 22 stands will be built.

The same source pointed out that the exhibitors are from different areas, from farmers, livestock farmers, gastronomy, handicrafts, some companies and associations, among others, both from Brava Island, but also from Fogo.

The event is held annually as part of the activities scheduled to commemorate the day of the municipality and the feast of the patron saint, São João Baptista, celebrated on the 24th of June, and aims to “promote the development of the agrarian economy and boost the competitiveness of the sector”.

The aim is to present a comprehensive and diversified program with a view to strengthening ties between producers, creators, entrepreneurs and the community in general, in order to encourage the exchange of knowledge, experiences and opportunities.

According to the organizing committee, the motto chosen for this edition, “Strengthening competitiveness in the agrarian economy sector”, reflects the MAA's determination to “boost innovation, efficiency and sustainability in the countryside”.

Well, he stressed that the MAA recognizes that agriculture is "fundamental" for the island's economy, and should therefore strengthen practices, technologies and strategies aimed at solid and lasting growth in this sector.

It is also intended to “promote and value Made in Brava products” with the exhibition of agricultural, fishing and handicraft products, with the aim of strengthening the local economy, but also promoting the exchange of knowledge, presentation of technological innovations, professionalization of the primary sector, stimulation of sustainable consumption practices, diversification of tourism and culture on the island, strengthening the competitiveness of the agricultural sector, among other aspects.

Regarding the identity of the exhibitors, the committee said that there will be participants from Brava, but that others from the island of Fogo and the program were also invited, in addition to the exhibition of products, there will be moments of information, workshops, lectures, open conversations, among others.

This edition, which is being organized in partnership with the Municipality of Brava, will last for three days and will include a variety of activities.
