July was the date indicated by TACV for the arrival of its new plane, a Boeing 737-8 Max that will be baptized “Morabeza”.
According to an article by NewsAvia, the contract was signed directly with Boeing, which is painting the device in the colors of the TACV before delivering it to the Cape Verdean carrier.
To close this deal, TACV took out a bank loan from Banco Cabo-verdeano de Negócios (BCN) in the amount of 650 million escudos (5.8 million euros) with government endorsement, as stated in a government statement made public this week.
TACV currently has only one plane at its service - a 16-year-old Boeing 737 700 , from TAAG Angola Airlines that connects Cape Verde / Portugal - but with the arrival of the Max, the Cape Verdean carrier hopes to resume routes that before operated as Paris, Recife and Boston, among others.
