TACV Will Receive New Plane to Improve Connectivity and Respond to High Summer Demand
TACV, Cape Verde's airline, will receive a new ATR 72-600 aircraft next week to improve connectivity and meet high summer demand.
Transportes Aéreos de Cabo Verde (TACV), Cape Verde's flag carrier, expects to receive a new plane early next week, increasing the number of aircraft operated by the company to three.
According to information provided by Lusa, this new plane is an ATR 72-600, with capacity for up to 70 passengers, and will be used to meet the increase in demand recorded this summer.
“Next week, the company will have another aircraft – an ATR 72-600 with capacity for 70 passengers”, reads a statement from TACV cited by Lusa.
For the airline, the reception of this new plane represents an important step towards improving connectivity and increasing the number of trips in the archipelago, especially during the high season, between July and September.
Currently, TACV operates two aircraft on domestic flights: an ATR 72-500 and a Dash 8-300, both leased by the Cape Verdean airline.
Lusa recalls that TACV had announced the arrival of the new plane on July 4, justifying the acquisition with the need to increase the number of flights between the islands of the archipelago, which suffer frequent delays and cancellations. These flights are now operated by TACV, following Bestfly's withdrawal from domestic flights in Cape Verde.
