Clarimundo de Pina, affectionately known as Nho Mundinho, was much more than a simple man from Brava Island - he was the guardian of traditions and the unparalleled master in the art of making and playing drums. His life was a testimony dedicated to cultural preservation, especially the flag festivals, where his talent echoed throughout the island.
From an early age, Nho Mundinho showed an intense passion for his craft. He was not satisfied with just playing the drums, but also with making them meticulously, preparing the skins with care and patience, an arduous job that he carried out with joy. For him, seeing his grandchildren learning this same legacy was the greatest joy, as he passionately wanted the traditions to be not only maintained, but lived fully by future generations.

Today, on the day of the island's patron saint, São João, we remember the life of Nho Mundinho with nostalgia and reverence.
