Alcides Vicente told Inforpress that, at the time, he decided to organize a "tour" because many descendants of Cape Verdeans in the United States of America did not know their roots and so this idea came up to make them know and explore their roots.
As he pointed out, these people knew some of the music and dishes of Cape Verde, but had never traveled here, and so he began to promote days that would give them opportunities to get to know their origins
.
"At the moment, I already have a trip organized for a group of tourists who are going to São Vicente island to spend Carnival," said the businessman, noting that they have always visited Brava island but admitted that "it's not possible to visit all the islands because of various factors and the tourists' vacation time, which is scarce", he explained.
Therefore, as you pointed out, you usually organize a group that visits the Barlavento regions and others that visit the Sotavento regions.
"I make a point of taking them to Cape Verdean restaurants and to concerts with musicians from our country, because I don't think it makes sense to bring them here and have them stay with us or eat foreign food, since the purpose of the trip is to get to know their roots and promote our culture," he said.
The agent concluded by saying that he has already brought more than 300 tourists from the United States to Cape Verde and that the evaluation has always been positive, taking into account that many of these people usually travel again in his caravan.
