Transformation of the sports hall into a multipurpose hall in Cova Rodela
City of Nova Sintra, December 11, 2024 (Bravanews) - The Brava City Council recently completed the rehabilitation of the Cova Rodela Sports Center, transforming it into a modern multipurpose facility, a project that represents a significant milestone for athletes and the local community. The old infrastructure, which was in a state of disrepair and caused concern among local sports enthusiasts, underwent a major renovation, financed entirely with the municipality's own resources, said Councilor Mário Rodrigues.
The refurbishment of the Sports Area included replacing the floor with a modern acrylic resin, ensuring a safer surface suitable for various sports. According to Rodrigues, the structure was painted both inside and outside, giving the sports area a new look, making it more attractive and functional.
One of the most notable aspects of the intervention was the installation of a fence around the area, ensuring greater safety for athletes and spectators. The goals were also painted and nets were installed, improving conditions for playing football and other sports activities. To increase accessibility and safety, a new gate was installed and the lighting was redesigned, allowing sports to be played at night.
Rodrigues said that the rehabilitation project is not limited to improvements to the current infrastructure. Brava City Council is planning a second phase, which will include the construction of bathrooms and the creation of a car park. This new development will depend on the negotiation of land with private parties, which will allow the conditions for use of the sports area to be further expanded.
With this intervention, Brava City Council not only provides better conditions for practicing sports, but also reaffirms its commitment to the well-being and development of the local community.
The Council appeals to the population to preserve and make good use of this new and modern infrastructure, valuing this important investment in the promotion of health and sport in Brava.
