Vox Populi: Mayor has the role of pressuring the Government to advance crucial projects for the Island - Augusto Laje
In a comment on his social media, Augusto Laje, Portuguese and married to a woman from Brava, stated that the Mayor of Brava is a central figure responsible for the safety and health of the island's population, highlighting the importance and need for effective management of political will for the advancement of local projects.
For Laje, “it is essential that the Government understands the urgency of the island’s needs, but to do so, the population’s representatives have the responsibility to put pressure and ensure that essential projects do not come to a standstill”.
He stressed that, as a link between the Government and the population, the Chamber must act proactively, promoting dialogue and collaboration so that community development and well-being initiatives are implemented without delay.
“Managing political will is a challenge, but not bowing to the whims of power becomes a pressing requirement. We need unity and strength so that our projects can move forward, benefiting all citizens,” he concluded.
The expectation is that, with joint work between the Chamber and the Government, the Island will be able to see significant improvements in vital areas such as health, security and infrastructure in the near future.
