“A sea of opportunities for everyone”. This is the motto of the Ministry of the Sea, the vision and the works that have been developed over the last few years have shown this new strategy. Creating opportunities for everyone in places where there are also income and sustainability guarantees.
This is how you can also see the first and newest warehouse and center for small orders inaugurated this Monday morning, December 19, on the island of Fogo, at an event chaired by the Minister of the Sea, Abraão Vicente.
An investment of 50 billion escudos and over a thousand square meters made by Enapor – Portos de Cabo Verde, which now has a significant and relevant importance for the island of Vulcão.
“We have a quality infrastructure here that will unlock the logistical operations on the island of Fogo, facilitate greater security for passengers and economic operators in the Port of Vale dos Cavaleiros”, assured Abraão Vicente.
Built from scratch, this infrastructure will bring better development to the island and improve parcel delivery logistics.
The Fogo/Santiago line is currently the most profitable and is the main destination for domestic shipments. “However, Fogo and Santiago Norte are the islands whose economic indicators, growth and social cohesion most appeal to our intervention”.
For this reason, the official believes that the country should look more closely at data for validation for territorial development. “Enapor's master plan is being revised precisely to plan new investments at the port level”, he advanced.
Vale de Cavaleiros is positioned to be the 4th port at national level and complementary to the city of Praia and as a crucial infrastructure for the opening of the Fogo/Brava region and the development of North Santiago.
