Population of Baleia expresses frustration at the lack of fulfillment of the commitments signed with the Mayor of Brava

At the meeting held last June, the Mayor committed to addressing critical issues that directly affect the inhabitants of Baleia, such as improving infrastructure conditions, access to basic services, and economic development in the region, specifically , opening a work front, repairing the protective wall of the sports plaque, painting and minor repairs in the community centre, as well as support in the construction of bathrooms in some residences.

However, hopes for meaningful change have begun to dissipate as the population sees no tangible progress.

Many residents expressed their frustration over what they perceived as a failure to deliver on promises made during the meeting.

Other community members share these concerns, highlighting the City Council's lack of communication and the absence of concrete actions to address local problems.

The Mayor, in turn, countered the criticism, saying that most of the promises have already been fulfilled. “The work front was opened, works were carried out in the community center and on the sports board and others are about to start soon”, adding that the locality needs much more, but that goes beyond the legal competences and financial effort of the city council.

But the population says that these small works do not solve the structural problems of the village, which has been suffering for many years from isolation, lack of a local school, kindergarten, etc.
