In an intervention in the Cape Verdean parliament, Clovis Silva highlighted that the lack of employment is one of the main reasons that lead young people to leave the island. "Brava Island has enormous potential, but unfortunately, the lack of investment and adequate public policies has limited employment opportunities for young people", said the deputy.

In addition to the lack of jobs, Brava Island also faces deficiencies in the areas of health, education and housing. "Health on Brava Island is precarious, with a lack of doctors and adequate infrastructure. Education also faces challenges, with schools in precarious conditions and a lack of resources", explained Clovis Silva.

The housing situation on Brava Island is also worrying, with many families living in precarious conditions. "The lack of adequate housing is a serious problem on Brava Island. Many families live in precarious conditions, without access to drinking water and basic sanitation", highlighted the deputy.

Faced with these challenges, many young people have chosen to leave the island in search of better opportunities on other islands or even abroad. "It's sad to see so many talented young people leaving the island due to lack of alternatives. We need public policies that encourage the economic and social development of Brava Island, in order to guarantee a better future for our young people", concluded Clovis Silva.

The abandonment of young people on Brava Island represents an urgent challenge that requires immediate action by local and national authorities. The implementation of effective public policies and investment in infrastructure are essential to reverse this trend and guarantee a promising future for the youth of Brava Island.
