José Luís Martins, who is visiting Brava Island, said that, in addition to presenting the results of the program over the last five years, the objective of the visit is also to renew the partnership with the new city council team.
Martins made these statements to the press today, on the sidelines of the presentation of the results of the five-year project, at a national level, held in the main hall of the Brava City Council.
As this official assured, the municipality showed total availability to work for the social housing, together with the project, and highlighted the Nílza Varela Foundation as a partner that has greatly supported the project in the housing area.
“On this island, seven houses have already been built by the foundation, in partnership with the Zé Luís Solidário project, and the objective for this year is to continue working to help the most vulnerable families on the island”, he stressed.
“The population’s assessment of our work is positive, taking into account that, wherever we go, we are recognized for our work, with motivation, but not everyone is aware of the number of beneficiaries and the results of our work”, he stressed.
In turn, the Mayor of Brava, Amândio Brito, praised the work of the project over all these years, admitting that it has a very strong social intervention, in the areas of education, food and health.
In this sense, the mayor highlighted that these areas are, in fact, the domains to which the council ends up giving very special value and attention.
“We have been following a series of actions developed by the project, which have helped to improve the quality of life of the residents and the city council thanks the group for these gestures of solidarity and, at the same time, expresses its total availability to be a partner in this project”, he highlighted.
The president concluded by stressing that the project is an indispensable partner and that the local authority is ready to help them achieve its objective together, which coincides with that of the local authority.
