The visit, which aimed to better understand the reality of the city, the clinics, the doctors, nurses and the entire medical care process, was an enriching experience both for those involved in the project and for all those who benefit from its actions, said Jose Luis Martins, responsible for the project.

According to Martins, during his stay in Dakar, he was able to observe first-hand the dedication and care with which healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, treat patients who come to their care units, with special care for those who are part of the Zé Luís Solidário Project. The visit also served to further strengthen the partnership with local healthcare professionals, who have contributed significantly to the treatment and recovery of patients, not only from Cape Verde, but of all those seeking medical care in the city.

Martins added that the experience was extremely positive, as it provided a clearer and more detailed view of the reality of Dakar, a large and challenging city, where everything has a cost, and where solidarity and hospitality have been fundamental to the integration of the Cape Verdean community. The city has proven to be a very welcoming place for Cape Verdeans, offering friendship, respect and opportunities to our people.

The project would like to express its deepest gratitude to all the healthcare professionals who have dedicated their time and effort to ensuring that patients receive the best possible care. The partnership between the Zé Luís Solidário Project and the healthcare institutions in Dakar continues to be an example of collaboration and joint work, with the aim of providing fast, effective and quality care.

Furthermore, the Zé Luís Solidário Project would like to thank some important members of this journey, including John Gomez, Lopez Matchiou Lopez and Zenildo Teixeira, who played an essential role in organizing the visit and promoting the project's actions. Everyone's work has been fundamental to the success of the project's initiatives, and the collaboration between the various parties involved has shown the importance of joining forces for the greater good.

Dakar, although challenging due to its complexity and economic hardships, has been a welcoming city for Cape Verdeans. The support that the city has offered, together with the hard work of health professionals, reinforces the idea that unity, solidarity and respect are the pillars that support the best partnerships and results.

On behalf of all involved, the Zé Luís Solidário Project expresses its gratitude to Dakar for accepting the visit and showing full willingness to serve one another. This visit will certainly be marked as an important milestone in the history of the partnership between the Zé Luís Solidário Project and the health institutions of Dakar, and everyone is eager to continue this joint work, promoting health, well-being and solidarity for the Cape Verdean population and beyond.
