Authorities say a 32-year-old woman killed her mother early Friday in Royal Palm Beach, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
Camille Balla has been charged with first-degree murder and will make a bond appearance Saturday morning.
Francisca Monteiro-Balla, 55, was found dead in the Country Club Village neighborhood off Royal Palm Beach Boulevard.
Deputies were called to the home in the 100 block of Country Club Way just after 1:30 a.m. PBSO did not say how Monteiro Balla was killed. A report on the incident was not available.
Jail records show that Camille Balla was arrested for DUI in August 2015 and for possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana in January 2014.
Balla was sentenced to a year of probation and had her license suspended for nine months after she was found guilty of the DUI charge in October 2015. The possession of marijuana charge was dropped in June 2014.
The woman is the 21st confirmed homicide victim in Palm Beach County during 2018, according to a Palm Beach Post online database, and the first in Royal Palm Beach.
